I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Campbell Soup Company. It’s not for love of soup that I pay homage but for love of green bean casserole, created by staff members in 1955. Now then, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’ve racked my brain to come up with a few more, less delicious, items that have made my life easier over the past year. I guess some would call that gratitude.

  • Joe Pulizzi, content king. Content development is a pain-staking process. But experts like Pulizzi make life a bit more user-friendly for content developers like myself. Pulizzi is founder of Content Marketing Institute and a seasoned online content pro. I follow him and his crew of talented writers through my RSS feed to keep up with the latest insights and trends. If you have a tangent problem like me, keep Pulizzi on your radar – he’ll help guide you on your content development journey.
  • Pandora, internet radio king –They’ve reported profits and beat Wall Street analyst predictions but critics are still skeptical about the future of the company. I’m not. On top of Pandora’s third quarter growth, Amazon just announced that the Kindle Fire will give users the ability to install apps from Pandora, just like the Nook. But, there is still the internet radio competition to sweat. Adversaries such as Spotify, Radio and Stereomood have unique features of their own. Stereomood, for example, lets you pick a playlist based on your mood. (Thanks Rebecca Heft!) And heads up for a big announcement from Spotify on Nov. 30. They’ve organized a launch event — something is definitely in the works.
  • Netflix, streaming king – It’s a love/hate relationship. I was super upset earlier this year when the streaming giant decided to up its prices and basically deliver less for more. But reinvention strikes again. Netflix announced they’ll be reviving one of the cleverest, best written comedies of all time. (Opinion not open for debate.) Set to run in 2013, 20th Century Fox studio will produce an unspecified number of new Arrested Development episodes. The new episodes will only be available to Netflix customers so unsubscribers, it might be time to let go of the grudge. Bring it on, Netflix! You might have just totally redeemed yourself! (Netflix will also be avaialble on the Kindle Fire.)

In case you’re dying to know what the yellow symbol on Cat’s forehead means, it’s the Chinese symbol for ‘king.’
